In 2011, Balance Point Tax & Accounting planted its roots in Redmond, Oregon. Born from a deep passion to support local businesses, our firm's vision expanded far beyond Oregon's borders. Our founder, Marilyn, envisioned a company that stood side-by-side with clients, guiding them towards their dreams, no matter where they were located. Today, while we proudly maintain our office in Redmond, our reach is nationwide. Embracing modern technology, we work primarily remotely, serving a diverse client base from coast to coast. This flexibility allows us to build lasting relationships without boundaries. Our team, a mix of Central Oregon enthusiasts and financial whizzes, merges the latest tech solutions with personal care. Whether you're our neighbor or joining us from afar, we're not just your accountants; we're your partners and your steadfast supporters.

Marilyn is the founder of Balance Point Tax & Accounting LLC, a venture she undertook in 2010 with a vision to serve and guide. Marilyn’s expertise is built on a foundation of hands-on experience. Before spearheading Balance Point, Marilyn shaped her career as a management consultant and further expanded her horizons in the financial services industry, specializing in analytical systems for an investment advisory firm. Outside of her work, Central Oregon's landscapes call out to her, leading to adventures in hiking, camping, and golf. But at the heart of it all, Marilyn's true mission is to support and elevate small business owners to their peak of success.

Ami has been a cornerstone of Balance Point Tax & Accounting since 2014. As a licensed tax preparer, she brings a wealth of knowledge from her past experiences in both the banking and medical industries. Her multifaceted background allows her to offer our clients specialized and well-rounded service. Outside of the office, Ami is an avid lover of the outdoors, spending her free time at the beach or engaging in various outdoor activities. She's also a devoted lacrosse mom, relishing the moments she gets to cheer on her sons from the sidelines.
Brittney Schmidt
Bookkeeper
Brittney joined the Balance Point team in 2023 and she's been a game-changer ever since. With a background in office management and bookkeeping, she knows how to keep things running smoothly. She's not just about numbers though; Brittney's a mom who loves spending time with her kiddos and her dogs. And if you're lucky, you might even get to try some of her homemade bread. She brings that same care and attention to detail to her work, making her an invaluable part of our crew.
